LINEA 77 Hard At Work On New Album

October 3, 2007

According to a posting on the Italian news blog Musica Metal, Italian "crossover metal" pioneers LINEA 77 are currently at Skip Saylor Studios in Los Angeles with producer Toby Wright (KORN, ALICE IN CHAINS, SLAYER) working on their new album, entitled "Horror Vacui". Songtitles set to appear on the CD include "La Nuova Musica Italiana", "Mi Vida", "Overload" and "Grotesque". An early 2008 release via Universal Musica is expected.

LINEA 77 released a collection entitled "Venereal 1995" in January 2007 via Earache Records. The album is a 12-song retrospective the band's earliest recordings, mostly in their native language, along with two newly recorded songs in English.

The roots of LINEA 77 are firmly planted in the politico-hardcore scene and many of the tracks on "Venereal 1995" are culled from the numerous benefit compilations the band appeared on in the late '90s.Without sacrificing their independence one iota, the hard-working ethics and fan-friendliness of the band have seen them steadily rise from the ranks of the humble squat circuit to the national Top 10 charts in Italy with their last studio effort, 2005's "Available for Propaganda".
